Another Amazing EID Year! The 2015 Elves In Disguise Photo Gallery Is Now Live!

This year marked another wonderful year for our Elves in Disguise Program! At the request of many Elves, who are all quite busy in December, the 2015 makeover was moved up two months. In collaboration with the Dallas Bar Association’s Community Involvement Committee, Elves in Disguise 2015 was held Saturday, October 24, 2015. Each year, volunteers at New Hope Foundation join together to bring joy and hope to one or more families with our Elves in Disguise “home makeover.” Elves in Disguise provides basic items many people may take for granted, such as a clean mattress with sheets and a bed frame or a dining room table or desk where the kids can do homework. Relieved of the burden of providing the basics, families are able to focus on achieving important milestones that can help them break the constraints of poverty. COAT DRIVE: 1000 Coats For Hope – Saturday, November 1, 2014

We know it seems too hot to talk about “Coats,” but please keep us in mind as the weather cools. It’s almost time for our 4th Annual 1000 Coats for Hope coat drive. Last year we set another coat collection record with more than 3600 cold weather items. This year we hope to break last year’s amazing record and collect over 4000, starting Saturday, October 18 and ending Saturday, November 1. We need kids’ sizes more than anything, but all sizes will be accepted, new or gently used. If your group would like to be a collection point for coat drop offs in your neighborhood, let us know so we can add you to our website. Use the convenient online contact form or call Reverend Flowers at 214-942-6110 or 469-879-3238.     Click Here For More Information!

Mother’s Day 2014: Mother’s Day Gift Baskets

Last year (2013), New Hope worked with the Notre Dame Alumni Club of Dallas to distribute more than 100 gift baskets to women in a battered women’s shelter on Mother’s Day. This year (2014), thanks to participation from the Dallas Bar Association Community Involvement Committee and a growing list of generous individuals, we will triple that number……(click the “Read More” link at right for more information!)Read More

Homeless For A Night

New Hope was honored to moderate Bishop Dunne Catholic School’s “Homeless For a Night” for its third year recently. Several public speakers told stories about the circumstances that led to their own homelessness. They encouraged students to stay in school, stay off drugs, and to continue to build on their existing foundations. Following questions and answers, about 100 students braved unusually cold temperatures to spend the night outside in boxes. Bishop Dunne Catholic School donated proceeds from the event to the SoupMobile, a local charity that serves almost 200,000 meals a year to people in need. View Photos From This Event
