Homeless For A Night

New Hope was honored to moderate Bishop Dunne Catholic School’s “Homeless For a Night” for its third year recently. Several public speakers told stories about the circumstances that led to their own homelessness. They encouraged students to stay in school, stay off drugs, and to continue to build on their existing foundations. Following questions and answers, about 100 students braved unusually cold temperatures to spend the night outside in boxes. Bishop Dunne Catholic School donated proceeds from the event to the SoupMobile, a local charity that serves almost 200,000 meals a year to people in need.

Nearly 100 students gathered to hear four formerly homeless guest speakers describe their experiences living on the streets.
